2024 Annual Creative Youth Show
Show month: April 2-30th
Project GEM created this “show and tell” exhibit specifically for youth we serve within each community we outreach to during the school year. It gives the public a chance to see what we are doing and how we make a difference in the lives of youth with special needs.
Our program team leaders each have their own theme for the show in which their students will be working on to display for the month. Each entry will focus on that particular theme.
The arts give youth an opportunity to be creative and use their imagination in a positive way. The show helps build self-confidence, self-esteem, social skills, and to take pride in something they created on their own.
A very big “thank you!” goes out to each county venue for supporting our youth show and offering their in-kind space donation!
"The arts can help students become tenacious, team-oriented problem solvers who are confident and able to think creatively. These qualities can be especially important in improving learning"
----Anne Duncan, U.S. Secretary of Education
St. Peter Recreation Center (main lobby display cases)
St. Peter Public Library (wall display case)
St. Clair City Hall (lobby area)
These works of art will be on display during normal business hours at each venue.
This activity is made possible by a grant provided by the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008.
Other funding sources include:
Prairie Ecology Bus Center
