Service-Learning Placement

We value and offer:
-That all service-learning students should make the experience positive, exciting, and rewarding for everyone involved.
-All program activities to focus on one or more of our 3 themes: Cultural,
environmental, and holistic/social education.
-A wide variety of opportunities for college students to gain experience in their career of choice.
-Flexibility in the program to set up hours that will revolve around their busy class schedule.
College Departments for the Program:
-College service-learning students that are working towards a degree in education, youth, or the arts are prioritized to participate in the program.
-College students may intern, complete service-learning hours or just volunteer on their own for future experience within their field of work.
Goals, objectives, and requirements for college students placed:
-Assist in self-esteem & confidence building
-Become a positive role model and mentor
-Build a comfortable communication level with special needs youth
-Demonstrate leadership abilities
-Must have dependable transportation available to the sites placed at
-Gain training through hands-on activities
-Help youth feel a part of their community through volunteering
-Students are required to attend a training meeting prior to the placement.

-Work with youth on a one-to-one level if needed
