Annual Pow Wow
9Where: Land of Memories Municipal Park. Approximately 1.5 miles from the YMCA on Riverfront Dr., Hwy 169/60 southwest of Mankato.
When: September 20-22, Friday - Sunday
NOTE: Your service-learning requirements will be "service" and "learning" activities. The service and learning shifts are the same except for Ed. Day. You will be placed in the areas as needed and get the required hours completed for your class credit. If you plan to do ED. DAY shifts, those will be counted as "learning" hours.

Note: Education day is set up only for 6th graders as a field trip through District 77 in Mankato.
THESE SHIFT HOURS ARE DIFFERENT THAN WHAT IS LISTED ABOVE.
NOTE: ONLY ONE SHIFT PER STUDENT. You cannot sign up for both shifts: Choose the one that best fits into your schedule.
Friday Shifts
8:30-11:30 am
Noon-3:00 pm
Education day is Friday morning and afternoon only.
Guide 6th graders on their field trip thru approximately 7 American Indian villages with over 20 presenters set up out at the park.
Those of you signed up one of these shifts will be emailed details the week of the event for instructions

Your weekend service-learning experience will consist of:
* Meeting American Indian vendors
* Learn about traditional crafts
* Watch Grand Entry dancing
* Dancing in the circle as a group
* Monitor the children's play area
* Serve & deliver meals to the elders
* Learn and help with traditional cooking
* Listen to Indian speakers talk about their culture, history, & more.
This is an excellent opportunity to get hands-on experience and learn about American Indian culture.

- Every one is to arrive 15 minutes early to get checked in for their shift.

Requirements: If you are planning to do any service-learning hours for this event:
- We do not offer any transportation to the park.
- The local bus transit is not available to the park
- Transportation is required, if you don't have a ride, arrange to car pool with someone signed up, or make arrangements with your professor.
- Plan to do this well in advance if you need to find a ride.
- These shifts are on a first come first serve basis.
- They get filled up quickly
- Do not sign up your friends.
- Check back the beginning of each week for available shifts for learning and service.
